Arlington Community Schools offers a comprehensive K-5 curriculum, which focuses on building a solid foundation in reading/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Technology is embedded in daily instruction and STEM activities are integrated into the fourth and fifth grade curriculum. In addition to our core curriculum, students also receive weekly instruction from specialty teachers in art, music, physical education, and library and participate in biweekly social classes taught by our full-time guidance counselors. Both of our elementary schools have been recognized as 2015 Tennessee Reward Schools for academic achievement.
Our curriculum is based on the TN Department of Education State Academic Standards. Our locally developed ACS pacing guides provide a brief outline of the standards and a recommended teaching order for a particular course/grade-level. The 2017-2018 documents provide the basis for what teachers will teach and students will learn in the classrooms throughout ACS.
