Arlington Online will begin on August 17th and follow the regular ACS instructional calendar. • Nutrition: Until restrictions are lifted, school lunches, for most grade levels, will be consumed in the classroom or designated space. Each school will have a plan based on the design of its facility to limit movement within the cafeteria.
  • Visitors: Volunteers, visitors, or non-employees will not be allowed to enter the building during the school day.

HEALTH & SAFETY

As employees and students return to the classroom, important safety protocols will be in place to limit exposure and transmission of COVID-19, including, but not limited to:

  • 6' social distancing will be practiced to the fullest extent possible
  • Face masks must be worn by students and staff while in common areas, such as hallways, lobbies, libraries, break rooms, etc. Masks are strongly encouraged inside the classroom and in places where social distancing is limited.
  • ACS will supply each employee and student with on (1) cloth face mask once school returns. We will also have disposable masks available while supplies last.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available in all classrooms and in common areas in each building.
  • Communal water fountains will be disabled, except for those with water bottle fillers. ACS is encouraging students to bring fillable water bottles.
  • Safety Compliance Assistants will be in each school to ensure all health measures are being followed. SCAs will report to the ACS District Office any discrepancies they find so schools can remedy and all issues.
  • ACS has purchased Clorox 360º machines that will be used daily to help disinfect classrooms and buildings.

If a student or employee receives a positive diagnosis of COVID-19, the district will follow the steps as outlined in the Reopen ACS Plan on Page 08.
