For the second consecutive year, employees in Arlington Community Schools have voted the school system a Top Workplace in the Memphis, Mid-South region. Overall, ACS was designated as a Large Employer Standout, ranking in the top three workplaces in the large division, which includes organizations that employ more than 350 people.
This recognition is based off of a survey that ACS employees completed earlier this fall that asked about the district’s culture and climate, the direction of the school district and the offered benefits.
Of the 650 companies surveyed in the Memphis region, only 60 companies scored high enough to be classified a Top Workplace. Overall, more than 22,000 workers were surveyed in the region.
“Only nine percent of the regional companies who participated in the survey are able to say they’re a Top Workplace,” said Superintendent Tammy Mason. “This designation is only possible because of the hardworking administrators, educators and employees in ACS. Their commitment to our students and each other inspires me daily, and their dedication to our schools makes me a better leader.”
What employees are saying about ACS…
“ACS is the ideal place to work for many reasons. In particular, I believe the main reason we are a top workplace is because we are all like family. In other words, we feel like we MATTER! Nothing is better than coming to work every day when you feel supported, challenged, rewarded, engaged, and motivated.” – Stacie Hardy, AES
“Working in ACS has been the highlight of my career. The culture of the ACS district is one that is positive, passionate, creative, collaborative, accepting, and supportive. It is a joy to know that I am following my passion of teaching students in a district that values all of its employees with resources, encouragement, incentives, compensation, and a variety of recognitions. The district provides diverse and specific training to help staff continue to develop the vast talents and capabilities of each individual. I believe what Marc Anthony said, ‘If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life.’ ACS makes this quote a reality.” – Dr. Robyne Batson, DES
“I think our school district does a great job of encouraging the growth of its teachers and professionals and leaders. We also give every employee a voice in our district, whether it’s at the school or district level.” – Jonathan Hawkins, AMS
“Arlington Community Schools is exactly what it states: it is a community. It’s a community committed to continually growing with each other and to better our students in every aspect of their young lives. ACS strives for excellence in every way and has a family-like atmosphere. I love the people here at ACS from the very top all the way down. No better place!!” – Craig Salley, AHS
