Arlington Community Schools was a big name this past weekend at the Mid-South Regional Cheerleading Competition.

All ACS cheer teams, including the Arlington Middle and Arlington High's JV and Varsity squads, took home 1st place in Regionals!

"Both JV and Varsity have overcome many obstacles, but with their hard work and determination they came together as a unit and captured the regional titles," said Lacey Thron, varsity and JV cheer sponsor. "We could not be more proud of these girls, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings."

"I am beyond proud of our AMS cheerleaders," said AMS Cheer sponsor Emily Floyd. "This group of girls made AMS history by receiving 1st place. They did what they are trained to do and hit their routine."

"The had an unexpected music issue towards the end of their routine," Floyd continued. "But they handled the situation as professionals and never stopped smiling at the judges. These girls are so special to me, and I'm so happy they were able to take home the first-place trophy."

The teams also received a bid to Nationals this February in Orlando, Florida.

Congrats, Tigers!
