Congratulations to Brandon Hendrix for being named the Patriot Bank Student of the Month for September! Brandon was selected by the Arlington High School Career & Technical Education Department for exemplifying the tenants of the Portrait of an ACS Graduate, which includes Communicate Effectively, Collaborate Intentionally, Cultivate Creativity, Be Resilient and Lead with Empathy. Here's what the selection committee had to say about Brandon, also known as Cadet Major Brandon Hendrix in the AHS JROTC:

"Brandon is an outstanding leader. Even when not directed to take charge, he has a command presence within the Tiger Battalion. As the Tiger Battalion Executive Officer and Deputy Commanding Officer, he manages the entire coordinating staff and provides input and oversight of them.  Brandon is very organized and has the respect and admiration of his peers and subordinates. He has a command presence, but he also has the working knowledge of how the staff and subordinate commanders work and knows them very well.

Outside of Army JROTC, he is an outstanding student maintaining a 4.1 GPA while taking both Advanced Placement and Honors Classes. He is also the Wing Commander of the local Civil Air Patrol Squadron, a Boy Scout in Troop 452 and has been recommended for Eagle Scout. Cadet Hendrix has applied for entrance into the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.

His academic load, involvement in JROTC and Civil Air Patrol has made him a well-rounded person who is a “must” select for this award."

The Patriot Bank Student of the Month program will recognize one student in the months of September - April. One of those eight students will then be selected for a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by Patriot Bank.
