ACS earns Level 5 distinction, ranks among best in Tennessee

Arlington Community Schools has once again proven itself among the top-performing districts in Tennessee, earning a Level 5 designation — the highest possible rating for student growth.

Adding to the accomplishment, Donelson Elementary was also named a Level 5 school, reflecting the hard work of teachers and students to reach the state’s highest mark for growth.

Statewide rankings showcase ACS excellence

Beyond growth, ACS students excelled in academic achievement, ranking in the Top 10 statewide in 24 of the 28 tested subjects on last year’s TCAP. Some of the biggest highlights include:

• #1 in 3rd Grade ELA Achievement – a remarkable accomplishment, especially as Tennessee’s 3rd grade retention law ties promotion to ELA performance. 
• #1 in 4th Grade ELA Achievement – showing that early literacy gains are not only sustained but continue to grow as students advance.
• #1 in 3rd Grade Science Achievement
• #1 in 6th Grade Science Achievement
• #2 in 5th Grade ELA Achievement
• #2 in U.S. History Achievement
• #4 in English II Achievement
• #5 in English I Achievement
• #5 in Biology Achievement

A Community-Wide Effort

In total, ACS achieved Top 10 rankings in 24 out of 28 tested subjects, underscoring a district-wide commitment to high standards across all subjects.
