Our Arlington community leaders gathered this fall for the latest LEAD Arlington, with a special spotlight on our new neighbors just down the road – Ford’s Blue Oval City! Located 17 miles from Arlington, this cutting-edge electric vehicle campus represents a multi-billion dollar investment in West Tennessee, promising to boost regional growth, create thousands of jobs and shape the future of transportation.

Ford’s Blue Oval City is set to become the automaker’s largest facility in North America, focusing on electric vehicle production. Representatives from Ford shared exciting plans with LEAD Arlington attendees, discussing everything from the plant's environmental impact to its massive footprint in our local economy.

The event also offered a valuable experience for some of our own AHS Collegiate Academy students, who attended to gain insight into the wide range of career paths that Blue Oval City is likely to open up across the region. With Ford’s presence, the demand for skills will extend far beyond automotive production, sparking opportunities in engineering, technology, health care, manufacturing and numerous support industries. It’s a glimpse into the expansive network of jobs and industries that will grow right here in our backyard!

LEAD Arlington, a twice-yearly consortium of local school, government and business leaders, is all about highlighting community progress, and it was inspiring to see our leaders and students connect with Ford’s vision for innovation and growth. As our town and region prepare to welcome Blue Oval City, it’s clear that big things are in store for Arlington!
