We're excited to announce that Superintendent Dr. Allison Clark has appointed Lisa Walker as the district's new Executive Director of Human Resources & Compliance! Joining the ACS District Office in July 2023 as Compliance Supervisor, Walker has taken on many HR responsibilities, including onboarding, background checks, staff professional development and more. She also draws from extensive experience in educational leadership and teaching, having served as a middle school assistant principal, district-level instructional leader and science teacher.
“Since joining ACS, Mrs. Walker has been a tremendous asset, stepping up significantly this year to support Human Resources,” Dr. Clark said. “Her eagerness to learn and proactive problem-solving have truly made a difference. In Human Resources, the impact on students is often indirect but crucial. Mrs. Walker understands our employees' needs and is committed to helping them succeed, ensuring they can positively influence our students’ experiences. I look forward to seeing her continue to grow in this role and lead our HR efforts with the same dedication she’s shown from day one.”
As Compliance Supervisor, Walker oversaw compliance in several key areas that impacted both students and employees. Her responsibilities included ensuring TSSAA compliance in sports, managing TISA compliance—the state's new funding formula for school districts—handling employee background checks and helping develop district procedures and staff professional development related to the state's new dyslexia law. Since joining the A-Team, Walker expanded her role even further by assisting the HR department in various ways, including employee onboarding and recruitment efforts, and managing the substitute teacher program.
As the Executive Director of HR & Compliance, Walker will continue to make her mark on ACS through a variety of initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall employee experience. She’ll focus on recruiting and staff retention efforts, analyzing staffing projections and exploring ways to improve employee benefits.
Congratulations to Mrs. Walker on her new role! We look forward to supporting her as she leads our district's HR initiatives!
